Services & Pre K programs

We look at the entire day as a sea of activities designed to capture the child’s abilities to learn and create, at their own pace. This is accomplished through the carefully-designed activity planning, which consists of methodologies that places learning in priority of each activity.

Each child is provided the opportunity to develop aptitude and skills at their own pace.  Our program is developed so that children are prepared through their daily play and basic learning activities, to successfully achieve acceptance into all kindergarten programs.

In addition to our Teaching Curriculum the following services are provided:

  • Two (2) main meals and One (1) snack.
  • Change of Clothing and complimentary Diapers (until child is 2 years old).
  • Full-time Registered Nurse available during hours of operation.
  • Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Twelve (12) -Month programs.

The New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene -Bureau of Day Care is our licensing agent. The House of Little People (HLP) is in substantial compliance with the rules and regulations as they relate to the guidelines set by DOHMH.

Our staff includes of an Educational Director who holds a Master’s Degree and is a Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education. The Center’s Director coordinates the Educational Curriculum and overall planning of the children’s activities.

Both locations have two (2) pre-school groups, each having a Head Teacher Licensed in Early Childhood Education and an assistant with a CDA in Early Childhood Education or college degree in early childhood education.

The following teacher to child ratios are maintained daily:

  • Infant Ratio: 4:1
  • Toddler Ratio: 5:1
  • Pre-School Ratio: 6-1
